Celebrate screen free week with the library! Kids and teens should stop by anytime this week to pick up a screen-free kit filled with activities. We have cool things for adults too. We don’t have to cut out every screen for a whole week, but the library has great things to keep you busy without them.
Check out Albany’s Silent Book Club hosted by the Albany Public Library. Love to read? The Albany, Oregon Silent Book Group is a unique book group with no assigned reading or required book discussions. It is simply a relaxing, companionable way to share space with like-minded book lovers!
Just BYOBook, ebook, audiobook (and headphones), textbook, comic book, newspaper, fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, etc. and settle in for an hour of peaceful silent reading! At the end of the hour, attendees socialize and share what they’re reading – or not! For you introverts out there, socializing is NOT required! This is a silent book club and all readers are welcome! Join us for an all ages Community Book Swap to celebrate Screen Free Week. Gently used books can be dropped of at the Main Library during open hours May 1-9, limit 1 bag/person, no textbooks or encyclopedias.
